What societies are meeting with EB 2022?

Where will EB 2022 be held and what is the address?
EB takes place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center (PCC) at 1101 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

 

Will EB 2022 have a virtual component? 
EB 2022 is planned to be an in-person conference at this time. There will be an option available for virtual posters, however, all posters must be presented in Philadelphia and all presenters must be fully registered for the meeting. 


What health and wellness protocols will EB be following?
Any gathering of people in a public place incurs risk of communicable diseases. Viruses, including but not limited to COVID-19, can cause severe illness and death. EB will monitor and work with local and other health authorities, such as the CDC and WHO, and make every effort to follow all applicable guidelines to ensure the health of our registrants. By registering for EB, participants certify that they voluntarily assume all risks related to communicable disease exposure and will follow the protocols set forth by EB and local authorities. Will EB 2022 have certificates of attendance/participation? If so, how can I access them?
Yes, after the conclusion of the meeting, certificates of attendance and participation will be available through the Registration Resource Center.  

 

How can I get a letter of invitation for use in obtaining a travel visa?
Once you are registered, you may access a letter of invitation in the Registrant Resource Center.   

 

Do I have to be a member to attend?
No. However, the registration fees are reduced for members of the EB Host Societies and the EB Guest Societies. See list of societies here.  

 

How can I become a member of one of the host societies and receive discounted registration fees and other member benefits?
You may apply for membership with one or more of the host or guest societies. Please contact the society office directly as each society handles membership differently. Click below for society information.

May I earn CME at EB 2022 and how do I claim them?
There is no CME available for EB 2022.

 

Where will the poster sessions be held?
Poster sessions will be held in the Exhibit Hall AB in the Pennsylvania Convention Center. 

 

Will there be virtual posters for EB 2022? 
Poster presenters will have the option to upload a virtual poster and audio recording for EB 2022, and there will be a place where attendees can post questions for presenters to respond. Virtual posters are optional.  All posters must be presented in person in Philadelphia. All poster presenters must be registered for EB 2022; if they are not registered, their posters will be withdrawn from publication. 

 

Can I bring children to EB 2022?
Registered parents or guardians may bring their fully vaccinated children under the age of 17 to educational sessions provided the children do not disrupt the event. Children must be registered in advance for the meeting and have their vaccination records validated. View the Health and Safety page for additional information.

 

Does EB provide childcare services?

EB does not provide childcare services. However, below are possible childcare options. NOTE: EB does not endorse these vendors nor is EB affiliated with these services in any way. The information is being provided for information only and registrants are encouraged not to rely solely upon this list and seek other childcare services if needed. EB will not be held liable should registrants decide to contract with any childcare services.

Kiddie Corp – They specialize in group care and will provide services for an individual child if so required. Billing will be based on 2 caregivers minimum. Contact them online or by phone at (858) 455-1718.  
Philadelphia Nanny Network – It is recommended to schedule services at least 1 week prior to the requested date. Contact them online or by phone at (610) 645-6550.

Sitter City – Available online for scheduling.

Whom should I contact for a meeting room, conduct a satellite/ancillary event, or advertise a scientific meeting during EB 2022?
The Special Event application process will begin in October. If you have any questions about Special Events or if you would like to advertise a scientific meeting, please contact info@experimentalbiology.org for details. 

 

Will transportation be provided between hotels and the Convention Center? Is there a fee?
Transportation will not be provided between the hotels and the Convention Center.  The headquarters hotel, the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, has a sky bridge that connects with the Convention Center.

 

Is there parking available at the Convention Center?

Does EB 2022 offer assistance for visitors with disabilities and special needs? Who should I contact?
If you have a disability that will impact your participation at the meeting, please contact us via email at info@experimentalbiology.org or by telephone at (301) 634-7840. We cannot ensure the availability of appropriate accommodations without prior notification.

 

Will there be a luggage/coat check available in the convention center?
Yes. The location and times will be announced closer to the meeting. 

 

Is there a business center available for making copies, sending faxes, etc.?
Yes. There is a business center in the Convention Center and in most hotels.

 

Will airport shuttles be provided?
EB 2022 will not be providing airport shuttle service. The closest airport is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL/KPHL). Click here for information about traveling between the airport and the convention center. 

 

Are there places to eat inside or near the Convention Center?
Yes. There are food stands in various locations throughout the convention center.  There will also be concession stands open inside the Exhibit Hall from Sunday, April 3 through Tuesday, April 5.

 

Do all participants have to register for the meeting?
Yes. All attendees must register for the conference and will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend EB 2022.

I do not plan to stay for the entire length of the meeting. Do you offer a one-day registration fee?
Yes, EB offers a one-day registration fee for members and non-members. One Day Registration allows all access for the day selected. Registrants cannot use one day passes for multiple days (regardless of amount of time spent on the day selected). 

 

I registered for the meeting but cannot attend. Can I get a refund?
Applications to cancel conference participation must be provided in writing and accompanied by a copy of the registration receipt. A $50 non-refundable processing fee will be deducted from the refund.  The request must be sent to info@experimentalbiology.org by March 2, 2022. After March 2, 2022, no refunds will be issued. 


Substitutions are allowed at any time but must be requested in writing to info@experimentalbiology.org and be of the same registration rate or higher. Refunds will not be issued for denied visas. There is a $50.00 cancellation processing fee. 
Participants must use their own badge; badge sharing is not acceptable at EB 2022 and there will be no registration transfers at the meeting.

 

My spouse/family member wants to attend the session in which I’m presenting. Can they attend my session?

Registered program participants may bring up to two family members to attend only the session in which they are a speaker or presenter. Each guest badge is $25. Each guest must be registered in advance for the meeting and have their vaccination records validated. View the Health and Safety page for additional information.

 

How can I register my spouse/family member to attend my session?

To register a guest, sign into the EB 2022 registration resource center using the email you entered during registration along with your badge number. This information is found in your confirmation email. Follow the directions on the screen to retrieve login information if needed. Once logged in, click on "Add a Guest" and fill out the form.

How can I get a copy of the receipt for my meeting registration?
You will receive a receipt by email upon completing your registration. Once registered, you may also go to the Registrant Resource Center where you may print a copy of your receipt. 

 

Why must I wear my name badge?
EB 2022 participants must be registered to attend meeting events. Wearing your badge confirms that you have registered. 

 

ABSTRACT FAQs

When is the abstract submission deadline?
The abstract submission deadline is Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:59 PST.

 

Will the abstract deadline be extended?
If you are not able to meet the November 30th abstract deadline, there will be another opportunity to submit an abstract called “Last Chance Abstracts.”  Last-chance abstracts will open on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 and the submission deadline is Thursday, January 27, 2022. Please note that for most of the host societies, Last Chance Abstract submissions are not eligible for speaking opportunities nor for awards.

 

Will my abstract be published? 
Accepted abstracts will be published online in the EB program itinerary planner prior to the meeting, as well as online as a supplement to The FASEB Journal.  Abstracts withdrawn prior to publication will not be presented or published. Failure to register for EB 2022 and present in person at the meeting will result in an abstract being withdrawn from all publications, including The FASEB Journal.

 

How can I make edits to my abstract?
